Hero: The Realm (Demo V2)

"The Realm was once peaceful. But the Dark One is turning the creature inhabitants into rabid monsters, who turn on the humans. As the King's first knight you are sent on a quest to rid the land of the evil plague. The Dark One's minions will try and stop you at every turn."

The full game is set over 100 levels as you battle through 8 differing stages, and changing environments, which include many types of enemy and end-of-level guardians!

Screen Break Time (Official port)

Screen Break Time is a minigames compilation that only uses the touchscreen. It includes 1vs1 battles, scrolling shooters, mode7 racings and some weird games that I don't even know how to classify :P

The original version won the fourth place in the Second gp32spain gp2x-wiz contest. It was kindly ported by BAFelton already, but now that Drumpi won a Caanoo in the Thunder Hoop remake contest he decided to make an official port.

The Amazing Adventures Of Echo

Echo is a little boy who loves action films, and he likes to go out dressing like a super-hero, always followed by his dog.
But this time, Echo sees his dreams come true: I put him in his own action adventure series. So he must face the dangers of a haunted castle, with tons of enemies, ghosts and dragons, and repel the future alien invasion in a post-apocalyptic city, where humans fight with his machines.

So you must fight, you must jump, you must find... and you must shot.

Bomber Run Redux

Bomber Run Redux it's an improved Bennu adaptation of Bomber Run, which is a shooter inspired in the hospital scene from “Pirates of Silicon Valley” created for the Wiz by Isidor..

Controls:

A,B,X ,Y: Fire missiles or drop a bomb (if descending from high altitude)
L ,R: End the current game.

Purito Cycling

"Cycling Purito" (Caanoo) is a simulator of cyclists races.

Change the distance of the race, the percentage of slopes, the number of participants and the difficulty.

Controls:

- "A" or "B" to accelerate must be pressed repeatedly.

- "X" to stop.

- "High" - "Down" to move the rider.

- "L" + "R" to return to the game menu

- "HOME" to exit the game

Super Mario War

Super Mario War is a Super Mario multiplayer game.
The goal is to stomp as many other Marios as possible to win the game.
It's a tribute to Nintendo and the game Mario War by Samuele Poletto.

The game uses artwork and sounds from Nintendo games. We hope that this noncommercial fangame qualifies as fair use work. We just wanted to create this game to show how much we adore Nintendo's characters and games.

Open Handhelds Browser

this program is meant to be used on the Caanoo Handheld, it browses the Open Handhelds archive for the Caanoo (www.openhandhelds.org) - at least in its current form - using simple heuristics and can install apps directly from the caanoo but only if:
1) the archive file is in a zip file (tar, rar, 7z etc TBD)
2) the archive contains precisely 1 .ini file with a matching directory
3) the file is not too big

any additional libraries contained in the archive will not be recognized.

Note that this program will write on the SD card, as such it can potentially ruin things badly (it has some basic sanity checks, though), in other words:
USE AT YOUR OWN RISK!

Python, Pygame, Numpy, Albow

Compile of Python 2.6.7, Albow 2.1, pygame 1.9.1 and numpy 1.6.1 for the Caanoo unzip into the root directory of the sd card. this installs a /python directory with everything.The /python/python script sets up the environment and preloads the touch screen lib. If you have a pygame program (for example) then: /mnt/sd/python/python yourpygamescript.py from its directory should get you going. (see the Openhandhelds browser for an example use) Note that: - all the .py files have been precompiled to pyc, and the .py files removed; this may or may not be a good idea; comment on this if you see a reason to include the .py - no special provisions are made for the Caanoo. Simple pygame applications which use only the mouse will probably be usable without changes, but anything using the keyboard needs some work... Zelda Mystery of Solarus XD

Zelda Mystery of Solarus XD is a parodic mini-game. The game was released on April 1st, 2011. While it was initially just an April 1st joke, Zelda Mystery of Solarus XD is a real game with two huge dungeons and 5 to 10 hours of playing. But don't expect a game that looks like others: everything is possible here!

uNGP 0.4b Summer Preview - BugFix

Here's the fix for button bug in some games like Sonic and others.

Here's principal changes:

- Fixed lag button in some games.
- Fixed swapped buttons A | Y.
- Removed config in menu L & R, they're now temp Save/LoadState.

Outcast

This is a direct port of the last Wiz build of OutcaST, with some very minor improvements. (A couple more menus have better 'selection speed', so the selection isn't zooming around as much.. notably in the Control Mode menu.)

Hopefully it performs better than when run as a Wiz binary under Ginge; sound is probably still nasty as I was never really good at working out the ST sound hardware, but hopefully better than under Ginge again

Unpack into your /game directory on your ST (ie: /game/outcast.ini and /game/outcast/random-stuff should exist.)

You'll want to read the README.txt, but in general..
Create /roms
Create /roms/atari-st
Stick your TOS.ROM Atari ST OS file into /roms/atari-st (it must be TOS.ROM, not ToS.RoM or TOS.IMG or anything other than TOS.ROM, case sensitive.)
Stick .ST or .MSA or .zip disk images into /roms/atari-st as well.

It should run nicely from your Caanoo menu, and the run-script will attempt to run the Caanoo menu on exit or crash. (You can edit this to be gmenu if you like, if you've not just replaced your Caanoo menuw ith gmenu

Virtual Jaguar

Hi,

Riviera71 from the French Caanoo Community ported Virtual Jaguar. It's an early port and things need to be improved.

Launch a game :

- first you need to recalibrate the stylus, because the Caanoo screen is smaller than the Emu menu. 2 or 3 pixels down can do the trick.

- launch the emulator

- touch the screen when it's black

- go to Jaguar ---> Load

- you're in the rom directory, your roms should appear here

- select your game, it must be highlighted in orange

- click on Load, the game must ALWAYS be highlighted or it won't launch. Load must be highlighted in WHITE, the game in ORANGE.

- if it's ok, it will go back to the first menu screen

- go to Jaguar ---> Reset

and be patient, it's really slow.

Controls :

Direction: D-PAD
Jaguar C : Caanoo A
Jaguar B : Caanoo X
Jaguar A : Caanoo B

Home : emu menu

It needs to be improved, any help would be really appreciated.

Drsms V3 Released Sega Master System & Game Gear Emulator

Hi,

I've updated my DrSMS port for the Caanoo.

For those of you who do not know what DrSMS is, its a Sega Master System and Sega Game Gear emulator, the download is below.

Changes

DrZ80 fixes for SET (HL) and RES (HL) opcodes, they were not using memory handler and so breaking memory paging in some games ( fixes Shining Force 2 and others )

Interrupt code re-worked. Fixes lots and lots of Games.

You can now redefine your keys. Go to the SMS or GG option screen and use the Define Keys option. You then save these new settings as your default for all games, or set them just for the current game...just use the "Save Global Settings" or "Save Settings For Current Game" option.

Installation Instructions

Extract the contents of the release zip file to the apps directory on your SD card.
Copy your zipped or unzipped SMS/GG roms anywhere you want on the SD card..just remember where you put them.

DrSMS should now appear on your Caanoo APPS menu, select it to launch it.

The menu is pretty straight forward, just go to the SMS or GG rom select option.
Browse to where you stored your roms and select the game you want.

Default In Game Keys ( you can redefine the SMS ones now but quick save/load & menu are not changeable)

UP/DOWN/LEFT/RIGHT = SMS UP/DOWN/LEFT/RIGHT
X = SMS Button 1
B = SMS Button 2
I - SMS Pause Button / GG Start Button
L - Quick Load
R - Quick Save
Home - Enter Menu

Thats about it, just leave a post here if you get stuck and someone will help you.

Invasion Of The Cow Suckers

The sheriff took your guns, nobody believes your cousin Clem the town drunk as to what he saw and who's been rustling and butchering the local cows. Hell they'd already assumed it was him since he and his brother's BBQ Hut has been having a sale on brisket all summer. Only you believe him and you're tanked up and crazy enough to help try to stop them since they've been sucking the blood out of your livelihood, the herd. Clem was all star quarterback until that bull riding accident broke his knees so he can only throw forward and it's up to you to put him in position by maneuvering your truck just so but he can throw up to 60 yards accurately and you have a whole monster truck load of axe handles and pitchforks. Honk the horn to herd the cows, maybe frighten an alien and try not to hit any cows or wreck the truck since the aim of the game is to defend the herd. The way them aliens been attacking your cows the truck may be all you have left by end of summer. Oh and be sure to avoid that death ray when the aliens start tagging up the place with them crop circles.
